How to Fold A Fitted Sheet 101
There are several ways that people can fold a fitted sheet, but flopping it over in a square and stuffing it in the closet is definitely not one of them. We understand that it can be quite a difficult and cumbersome task until you get the hang of it, but once you start then it is truly hard to stop because your linens are so nice, neat, and organized. Properly folding your sheet sets can also extend the life of them because there is less chance of damage once they are folded and stored. The fitted sheet is always the troublemaker when it comes to folding sheets. The flat sheet and pillowcases are the easy part, but don't give up because it only take a few times and then it is like riding a bike. We are going to try to walk you through a super easy way of folding a fitted sheet and placing it neatly in a stack with your pillowcases and encasing them with your flat sheet. Once this is done they will be ready to put on your bed when the time is right and there won't be any wrinkles in the sheets.
A few things to note before you get started. If you just bought brand new sheets, make sure to properly launder them before you store them to keep them fresh, crisp, and clean before placing them on your bed. Make sure you have a dry closet or linen area to store them in and make sure they are completely dry before folding and storing them to help prevent any problems or issues with mold and mildew.
There are three main components of a sheet set which include the flat sheet, the fitted sheet, and the pillowcases which you can see above. All basic sheet sets have a flat sheet, fitted sheet, and two pillowcases with the exclusion of twin and twin xl sizes which only have one pillowcase. When properly folding a sheet set the ultimate goal is to fold the fitted sheet, the pillowcase, and then wrap a partially folded flat sheet around them. The most difficult part is folding the fitted sheet so we are going to show you step by step an easy way to fold a fitted sheet.
AN EASY WAY TO FOLD YOUR FITTED SHEET 101
1. Turn your sheet completely inside out.
2. Take your pointer fingers and stick one in each of the two corner pockets associated with the longest side of the sheet or the length. The longest side of twin and full sheets will be the 75 inches. The longest side of queen and king sheets will be the 80 inches side, and the california king longest side will be 84 inches.
3. Now that your pointer fingers are at the corner pockets (where the seams meet) shown in the picture, take your pointer fingers and bring them together so they touch each other (or the fabric on top of them touches each other).
4. Leave your left pointer in the corner pocket and with that finger pinch the right corner pocket so it doesn't fall when you pull out your right pointer finger. In one swift motion try to flip the right corner pocket of the sheet on top of the left corner pocket which will make the sheet actually right side out (the correct side showing where the sheet is not inside out anymore).
